Tideland Boundaries


Lateral tideland boundaries are often misunderstood and misrepresented on County GIS and Assessor Maps.  In most cases, those boundaries run perpendicular to the shoreline.  The exceptions being when the tideland boundaries are explicitly described in the deed or in the case of a cove.  Chicago Title Insurance Company has prepare an excellent reference entitled "Waterfront Title in The State of Washington”.
